This website grew out of a research project about older people’s experiences of paying for their own care in England. Many people have to find and pay for care as they get older but there is very little guidance or understanding of what that it’s like if you have to find and pay for care yourself. Care can be many things from having someone to help in the house, with shopping or personal care. The entire process of understanding and accessing the care system can feel like a complex maze, with financial challenges and staffing problems being all too common. This website aims to provide valuable insights, drawing from the experiences of individuals who have been through this journey. If you’re curious to learn more or need resources to guide you, please explore the links above to delve deeper into our research findings and helpful materials.
